Because things do not always happen 9 to 5, I offer a flexible and convenient service. Mothers with young babies usually greatly appreciate the convenience of consultations held in the comfort of their own homes. Home visits come standard with all postnatal lactation consultations.

It is important to assess your baby's behaviour before, during, after and between feeds.
For this reason, at least two but often three hours is necessary, which gives time for thorough history taking, observation of a complete breastfeed, question time and discussion.

A full breastfeeding assessment and evaluation is made, taking into consideration any relevant factors that may be impacting on breastfeeding. Together, we can then devise a breastfeeding plan that is realistic and workable for your circumstances and lifestyle.

All consultations include an assessment of your baby's mouth and facial structures for the presence of tongue tie, lip tie and related restrictions.
If discovered and believed to be impacting on breastfeeding function, referrals to treating practitioners can be organised. A detailed specific breastfeeding referral can be written for you if preferred.

Follow-up is included in the consultation fee.
It continues until breastfeeding issues are resolved to your satisfaction or you are comfortable.
You are encouraged to contact me at anytime for ongoing/further help or support.

Parents of older breastfed babies, toddlers or children who are breastfeeding, are also invited to book lactation consultations for information and support.
Global recommendations for infant feeding (The World Health Organisation) state that exclusive breastfeeding should be continued for the first 6 months, with the gradual addition of complementary foods whilst continuing to breastfeed from 6 - 12 months, followed with breastfeeding up to two years of age or beyond.
Breastfeeding can continue for as long as mother and child wish.

Appointments are made where possible to fit your busy schedule.
I am happy to work after hours, on weekends and public holidays if I am available.
Just let me know your preferences and we can negotiate time and date.

I am happy to travel up to approximately a 250-kilometre radius of Dubbo, for a travel charge.
Otherwise, you may choose to instead come to me in Dubbo.

Please contact me to enquire regarding the current consultation fee and travel fee (if applicable).
