Postnatal Lactation Consultations
Location Options:
Home Visit consultations are the most popular option with families enjoying the enhanced convenience and comfort of accessing support in their own homes during those precious early weeks
Consultations in Dubbo due to distance or preference
Zoom available if meeting in person is not possible due to distance (not ideal for breastfeeding assessments but is an option)
Which consultation is right for you?
Debbie offers two session lengths to support your breastfeeding journey:
2-hour consultation: The standard consultation length. Ideal for first-time clients or those navigating more complex breastfeeding situations or challenges. This longer session provides ample time to explore your questions, learn and develop practical skills in a calm, supportive setting
1-hour consultation: This shorter length option is designed for early day reassurance for newborns between birth and 6 weeks. Suited for mums who just would like their baby’s attachment checked or have a few simple questions. Also usually suitable for follow-ups consultations after your initial consult. For more in-depth concerns or if you’d like additional time for questions and guidance, the standard two-hour consultation is recommended. The one-hour session may be extended on the day if time allows (additional fee applies)
Debbie is prepared and happy to travel up to about 2-3 hours from Dubbo
A travel fee applies for consultations outside Dubbo
Debbie will work with you to review:
What good attachment looks and feels like
How to tell if baby is swallowing well and transferring milk effectively
Signs of milk letdown
What a “good” feed looks like
How to know if you’re making enough milk
How to know if baby is getting enough milk
Consultations are available for mothers and families at any stage of breastfeeding. Newborns with early feeding challenges are prioritised for consultations.
If Debbie can’t see you within a day or two, she’ll do her best to remotely provide some form of immediate, practical support in the meantime.

Every breastfeeding journey is different. Whether you're a new mum learning the ropes or a seasoned parent seeking guidance, Debbie provides expert, compassionate care tailored to your individual needs—wherever you're at on your breastfeeding path.
